14 hour Day

I wore these clothes for 14 hours straight.

The day started at 8:00 am, at work, without the hat, in different shoes.

I switched into wedges to meet some new friends and do the rush hour errand run-around. Then, pit stop at home to cook dinner with B, eat outside in this beautiful weather, and finally, out the door again to talk plans and brainstorm over a beer.

Before I knew it, I was headed home at 10:00 pm, but could have stayed out for hours.

I was anticipating needing, wanting to change. I usually do. But I was so comfortable, and frankly impressed with this versatility, so I ended up just putting a hat on it... and snapping a few pics before the sun dropped.

The trick to making a work blouse work easy all day in summer:

Tuck and roll.

Tuck it in:

A tunic length blouse works great over leggings in the winter, but can begin to feel bottom heavy over pants in the summer.

So, tuck in the front. Simple as that.

Roll it up:

Roll your sleeves! I get really neurotic about this in the winter. If you roll, they wrinkle, and then you need to dry clean.

But, in the summer, keep 'em rolled all the time. I find 3 rolls holds silk best. Side Note: I rolled my jeans under, too.

Bra-me, Brami

One part bra, one part cami. Is this too personal? Not sorry, this is important. This lightweight and wicking brami keeps you cool, adds some coverage, and you wont even know it's there. Its an all summer companion, and I love the tiny straps.

Find it here in every color.

So there you have it. A 14 hour Tuesday in one outfit. I know I talk about this all the time, but silk blouses really are powerhouse pieces, and you can make them cool for summer, too. Check the links below for some of my favorite go-to silks.
