I get so restless this time of year. Like clockwork, early spring rolls around and I'm ready for takeoff.
While we do have some big travel plans later in the year, for now I've got to sit tight. People often talk of spring as an invigorating time of year. A time of renewal, rebirth, and momentous change off the heels of the new year.
I find it the most maddening. The most impatient. The most restless. Change is, in a word, uncomfortable. I want to take off.
So I suppose in fighting flight, its easier to keep feet on the ground when they're in some fresh new booties, right? You can work a little harder in new booties, right? Winter basics like a leather jacket or closed toe booties done in a light hue for spring are so wonderfully impractical and feel perfectly flighty: You certainly cant risk this color in winter slop, and in a month or two you'll be living in open toes and bare arms. But for right now, they're transitional and perfect. And that's all that matters.
